Sterling Silver Clipper Ship Cutty Sark Franklin Mint 1976

This listing is for a vintage 1976 Franklin Mint Sterling Silver Sihouette picture of the clipper ship, Cutty Sark. This is one of 4 different sterling silver silhouette pictures that the Franklin Mint producted in a limited quantity. The other three were the nao (lead ship) "Santa Maria," the frigate "La Belle Poule," and the schooner yacht "America". Price for each picture was $120.00 in 1976. The silhouette image is made from a single sheet of sterling silver, covered with lacquer, and then sandwiched between two pieces of plexiglass before framing. The piece measures approximately 25" x 21" with the frame and matting, weight is about 7 pounds before packing. It is in overall very good condition for its age. There are a few dings in the frame, but the plexiglass is clear with a couple superficial scratches (see photos), and the sterling silver replica of the Cutty Sark is beautifully detailed. There is a name plate on the front of the frame.
