Forgecraft knives were made in the U.S.A. by Washington Forge, and Washington Forge discontinued making them in 1968. They are considered to be workhorses in the kitchen and industrial settings, and are heavy duty knives. Both knives have been used, but are solid and have years of life left in them. There are no splits or cracks to the wooden handles and the handles are firmly pegged, with no movement between handle and blade. The hi carbon steel blades have a darker age patina, which happens with hi carbon steel. There are also some darker spots and a few light spots of surface rust. Both blades are quite sharp.
