1969 JAMAICA TEN CENT PCGS MS 65 - FIRST INDEPENDENT COIN - FIRST YEAR ISSUED This is a PCGS graded Mint State 65 1969 Jamaican ten cents coin. 1969 was the first year that Jamaica issued its own coinage. Prior to 1969, Jamaica used UK pennies, sixpence, schillings, and half crowns. - Mint state 65 examples of these first year coins are rare The obverse features Jamaica’s national flower, lignum vitae, and a butterfly.
