Vintage Bianchi Road Bike * Revision of Previous Listing

    Sports & Outdoors ·

    $150

Sorry for the long description but if you are interested in the details: condition, what I've done to the bike to ready it for selling, what I'm going to do tomorrow and a list of the key components (brand, model). It's a bit of a project bike, showing its age, but with some TLC, it could be a fantastic vintage road bike.  It served me and its previous owner well. Will add photo with seat and bottle holders reinstalled tomorrow. CONDITION Gears: great Brakes: great Frame: The seat tube has a small puncture as shown in photo. I bought the bike used about 6 years ago, it already had the puncture along with some scratches and dings. The previous owner used to ride it to Collingwood and Muskoka periodically and used nail polish to cover the scratches and dings. I rode the bike for 2 years and the puncture has not affected the bike performance nor has it become bigger whatsoever. I removed the nail polish last year because it was beginning to degrade but I got super busy with work and wasn't able to finish what I started. Stored in the garage over winter, the exposed parts of the frame developed light surface rust. Tires and inner tubes: need to be replaced. I've left them on to protect the rim bed/channel. Rims: One rim has a medium grade scratch on the sidewall. On the other rim, I accidentally removed the sidewall finish when I was cleaning it. I used graphite lubricant to stain the sidewall for appearance and protection as shown in close up photo of rim. Seat: great condition except for  small tear on the Specialized logo. What I've done so far - thorough cleaning of rims, frame and attached components: brake levers, gear shifters, handle bar grips, seat, clipless pedals... - degreased chain and gear sprockets - lubricated (with Supco All-Purpose Oil) brake handles, gear shifters, crank arm spindle - lubricated chain (with Pedro's Ice Wax chain lube) What I'm planning to do - use a vinegar solution to remove rust on frame - apply nail polish on exposed frame metal - use JB Weld to fill in the puncture, sand the weld after it cures, apply nail polish - repair tear on seat (don't know how yet) COMPONENTS Shimano RX100 BR A550 Brake Calipers Deore LX FD M550 Front Derailleur Deore LX RD M550 Rear Derailleur SR Sakae - Road Bike Handlebars Cat Eye - Model 330 Chrome Handlebar End Plug Specialized - Air Gel Seat (from Stumpjumper series bike) with bike lock holder attachment FRAME: Bianchi Superset lugged Dedacciai steel frame with a double-butted Cr-Mo (Cromoly) fork.
