Remember Hilo Hattie? She was featured in movies such as 'Ma & Pa Kettle Go to Hawaii' as well as other period films. She created a store in Hawaii and everyone had to have something from the store as a standard souvenir. This shirt is an original Hilo Hattie of old with the elegant print of abstract Tapa Cloth. The tiny specks of white you see among the deep blue and orange are part of the fabrics design. Very retro. The fabric is a comfortable 100% cotton, and as it is a natural fabric, the ink colours get a rich hue and the fabric is comfortable in heat. It is very much as new and the buttons are the old carved coconut (even an extra button is sewn into the care tag - that's not seen much anymore) The size is listed as 5XL and they are not kidding about it being big, however sizes have changed over the years and I measured for you to compare to your own clothing. From armpit to armpit it is 30" across (meaning it is 60" around). these original shirts in these extra large sizes are pretty hard to come by and this one is in perfect condition.
