Meito China Dolores Covered Vegetable Bowl - Vintage Hand Painte

This is a vintage Meito China round covered vegetable serving bowl, hand-painted in Japan. Meito China was established in 1908 by Kotero Asukai, a former senior engineer from Noritake. The bowl features a hand-painted floral spray with pink, purple, and blue flowers on an ivory background, accented by a blue geometric border and gold-trimmed handles and finial. The pattern name is Dolores. The style and backstamp date this piece to the late 1930s or early 1940s. It measures 10 1/2 inches from handle to handle, 8 1/2 inches in diameter, and 6 inches tall. It weighs 2 pounds 4 ounces. Preowned, with some gold wear as shown in the photos. Pickup is at 58th and 7th Ave in Midtown Manhattan.
