Use warm, dechlorinated water: Place the seeds in a glass or a clear container of warm water. Use rainwater or tap water that has been left out for 24 hours to let the chlorine evaporate. Keep the water clean: Change the water daily or whenever it appears cloudy to prevent bacteria and rot. Find a warm, bright spot: Place the container on a sunny windowsill or use a seedling heat mat to keep the water warm, ideally between 75–87°F (24–31°C). Discard floating seeds: Viable seeds will sink, while seeds that float are likely not viable and should be discarded. Watch for sprouts: In about 1 to 14 days, a small green sprout will emerge.
