The coin is composed of 99.93% silver and 0.07% copper, with a diameter of 40.6mm. The obverse design features Liberty Walking, used on the U.S. half dollar from 1916-1947, by Adolph A. Weinman, and the reverse design is a heraldic eagle by John Mercanti.
