April Freecycle Donation Announcement 🌸

Happy Friday Karrot Family 🥳 We wanted to give a big round of applause to everyone who participated in our Special Edition of Freecycle! It was great seeing all of you post your free items in support of Single Moms in your community. In total you’ve collectively posted 482 free items! Give yourselves a pat on the back 👏🏻 While we didn’t reach out 600 postings goal, we were amazed by all the cool stuff being shared and will still donate the full $600 for 15 Baskets of Encouragement to be delivered to 15 families💪. At Karrot we're always looking to build a stronger local community and hoping to lend a hand when we can. Here's a special message from NeighbourLink North York who’s running this great initiative: "We applaud all single moms for the courage and perseverance needed to be a solo parent - especially during the pandemic. There are many extra challenges including increased isolation, juggling work with home schooling and the rising cost of living. We want to celebrate single moms, and NeighbourLink North York has created the Single Moms Mother's Day Basket initiative to do so! This initiative allows interested sponsors and recipients across North York to be matched, so that they can connect with a community member. The sponsors will then have the opportunity to build an encouraging gift basket for their matches single mom! These baskets can include pampering items, such as bath and body products or sweet treats, along with grocery gift cards in your basket to support the family!" 💖 From a 2021 Recipient: "Being a part of the Single Moms Mother's Day Basket initiative meant the world to me and my boys. I felt so loved and needed. I was pampered with so many amazing things I cried when I saw what my sponsor got for me. I cannot believe how generous someone can be.
