The outer shell of this pillow is down-proof 260 thread count cotton. Soft provides only minimal support – this is a flatter-style, sinky pillow. If you need a tad more support, try the Medium or Firm versions of this pillow. This pillow is filled with care in Canada. Construction This single-chamber pillow is finished with a double needle stitch. Fabric 260 thread count, down-proof, 100% cotton. Fill 550+ loft duck down. Down is the soft undercoating of geese and ducks. It consists of clusters of light, fluffy filaments growing from a central quill point. Support Level Soft support. This support level works well for front sleepers or those who prefer very minimal support. This is a duck down pillow! What’s the difference between goose down and duck down? There is no difference in the overall look and feel of the fill (unless you’re using a microscope)! There are 4 main, but subtle differences: Loft: Down quality is measured by loft (AKA fill power). Goose down tends to be available in higher lofts than duck down, however, you can find both duck and goose down in low and high lofts. Odor: Lower loft duck down has a higher likelihood of developing an odor in humid environments than goose down or higher loft duck down. Longevity: Duck down naturally contains more oils than goose down, which can help prevent the material from becoming dry and brittle. Cost: Goose down is scarcer, and therefore is more expensive than duck down. What type of pillow works best for your sleeping style? For the most comfortable sleep, you want to try to achieve even neck alignment. Here are some general guidelines to start from: Side sleepers tend to need the most support. Side sleepers can benefit from firmer-style pillows, like firm support feather or Down Perfect pillows. Front sleepers tend to need the least support. Front sleepers usually prefer softer, flatter-style pillows, like soft or medium support down pillows. Back sleepers and combination sleepers need moderate support. They usually benefit from microfiber pillows, fuller down pillows or flatter feather pillows. Of course, this varies based on body size, health and medical conditions and personal preference!
