VTG Susie Cooper “Ferndown” Hand painted Serving Bowl
$50
This ceramic bowl features the "Ferndown" pattern designed by the prolific British ceramicist Susie Cooper. The "Ferndown" motif (design number 2374) was produced in England primarily between the mid-1950s and early 1960s. Delicate green and brown leaves and ferns set against a creamy white background. A wide, solid green band along the flat edge of the rim. Susie Cooper was a highly successful 20th-century ceramic designer whose career spanned over 60 years. Her elegant, rounded forms and graceful color palettes were notably favored by the British Royal Family, earning her a Royal Warrant. Measuring 9”inches in diameter and 2.5” inches tall. There are no visible chips or cracks, there is some slight wear and a couple of kiln marks on the back. Otherwise in good vintage condition.
