VTG Susie Cooper “Ferndown” Hand painted Serving Bowl

This ceramic bowl features the "Ferndown" pattern designed by the prolific British ceramicist Susie Cooper. The "Ferndown" motif (design number 2374) was produced in England primarily between the mid-1950s and early 1960s. Delicate green and brown leaves and ferns set against a creamy white background. A wide, solid green band along the flat edge of the rim. Susie Cooper was a highly successful 20th-century ceramic designer whose career spanned over 60 years. Her elegant, rounded forms and graceful color palettes were notably favored by the British Royal Family, earning her a Royal Warrant. Measuring 9”inches in diameter and 2.5” inches tall. There are no visible chips or cracks, there is some slight wear and a couple of kiln marks on the back. Otherwise in good vintage condition. *Note: Payment is accepted in cash only, and the transaction is for pick-up exclusively. Shipping is not available.*
