Must be gone by Dec 10 Available for sale as shown is this beautiful antique cabinet. Cabinets like these were made from the 1790’s-1830’s. The inspiration for this one most likely came from places like England or Scotland. Oak and ash was used in the construction of this piece. This item features square nailed construction, and hand forged hinges are used for the doors. All hand turned appliqués and carved relief panels are in great condition with no major losses. The cabinet was probably restored in the 1920’s with a drawer pull update moving away from the original tear drop pulls it would have had. Now in the 2020’s this piece hopefully receives its final restoration. All locks have been taken apart and cleaned. Both are operational, however we only have a key that works with the top drawer at this time. Custom trim out of 100 year-old oak has been fabricated to replace the missing trim it once had. Finally, the entire cabinet has received a coat of danish oil to preserve its original finish. Units such as ones like these are getting more difficult to come by. This one would be a wonderful addition to anyones cottage or home. Measurements are: 58” long by 21” depth with a height of 51” The asking price for this piece is $350.00 (negotiation possible) This item can be viewed by appointment in Scarborough, Ontario.
