👉🏼 Pickup Intersection: Herkimer & James St. S Absolutely gorgeous antique Nippon golden accented and handled urn with applied gold and moriage decoration. Stunning tall porcelain Nippon urn with 2 delicate side handles near the opening. Gold moriage and hand painted floral details on this vase are remarkable. Heavily detailed all around. The condition after all these years is truly impressive. Great Japanese style and form! Measures about 11" tall and 6" in diameter. Gentle signs of wear on areas where gold is present and on handles. No other notable issues other than normal wear or fade from age. Piece is marked “Nippon,” Green Maple Leaf Marked - meaning it was made and imported between 1891 and 1921. Nippon vases have a rich history and, because of their unique craftsmanship, they’re highly sought-after pieces of porcelain. To create Nippon Moriage ware, an artisan applied raised enameled decorations to the surface of a Nippon porcelain piece. To achieve the Moriage effect, the artisan placed very fine dots close together, similar to piping icing onto a birthday cake. Jeweled effects are part of many Moriage pieces. 👉🏼 Pickup after 7pm weekdays downtown Hamilton near St.Joe’s Hospital: Herkimer at James St. South 👉🏼 Local delivery available for a small fee 👉🏼 FREE local delivery with e-transfer payment Check out my other listings - it’s spring cleaning time!
