Frederick Freed, started to handcraft and customise classic pointe shoes for professional dancers for the London theatre and National Ballet in the traditional 'turn-shoe' method; every one painstakingly hand crafted by a highly skilled maker. Two thirds of all Classic Pointe Shoes are made to a dancer’s individual specifications which require accuracy to within 3 mm. These lovely hand crafted pink satin pointe shoes were made for Jilliane Vanstone, principal dancer with the National Ballet of Canada who retired in 2022.
