*Update: 3 have been sold, 7 hats left!* Made by: Chimuk I lived in Huanchaco, Peru for a few months this year–and got to know the owners and staff of an incredible nonprofit health clinic in the town. To raise money for their clinic, the organisation sells handmade knit hats and other accessories. So I brought a few back to Toronto with me to sell and raise funds here! From the makers: Your perfect summer accessory (and our best seller) crochet bucket hats! This piece is hand crocheted using 100% Tangüis Cotton from Peru. They will provide shade, comfort & style while simultaneously supporting employment and empowerment of women in Peru. This piece is 100% produced by Chimuk women artisans.We have worked closely with 27 Peruvian women, training since 2018 in all aspects of knit and crochet artwork. For 80% of the artisans, this is their only source of income, and for most it is their first real job. Other typical sources of income are: raising guinea pigs, harvesting tomatoes & cucumbers, and baking cakes.
