psVales Of Castlemore·amazing campaign.. reusing is a key feature in all natural process and is a much futuristic way than dumping our garbage onto the planet. I try my best to purchase second hand and selling, repurposing or giving away items I no longer use. I skip straws and plastic cutlery and use my glass straws and have an extra set of cutlery in my car for on the go. I wash them and resuse them rather than having stawrs and plastic products at the bottom of our oceans degrading life cycles.
SosoErin Mills·We can also put the used tissues in the compost

LadygUpper West Side·Try to find more than one use for everything. Use jars and plastic containers as many times as you can. Repurpose or decorate items and give them a new life. Exchange or sell things with other like minded people or donate what you can't use to thrift stores whose purpose is to benefit others.

NetskiClairlea·Fantastic campaign! I buy products with limited packaging. I buy quality products because I will have them longer. I dont use or have plastic bags and when I see garbage on the ground I pick it up and put it in a garbage can. A little bit goes a long way! Thanks Karrot!

JGBroadview N·I'd like to try to persuade our local food stores to really reduce their plastics (i.e. do more than ban plastic shopping bags!) and to stop using black-coloured plastic (e.g. sushi, deli meals, frozen meals) -- because apparently Toronto can't recycle black plastic! Surely the stores could switch to clear plastic trays instead? And why aren't all of our eggs only in paper egg cartons (instead of some in plastic?) But my main complaint is bottled water, which is single-use plastic! Better to buy a great water filter (I use Santevia) + use your own tap -- and just carry a thermal water bottle. The result: no plastic + no wasted water - and let's try to stop Nestle from making big profits from selling us our own water...
psVales Of Castlemore·soo true .. I hate plastic I wish it was banned worldwide or only use the recycled

I am very picky about the selection of garbage. And I would like to plant some trees with you, if possible. 🌷

MichaelCentral London·remove the aluminum top from K-Cup pods and dump the coffee grounds into a deep dish or bowl. Dump the coffee grounds into your garden as a natural soil enhancer!!!🦋
mnmercerCentral London·I do this too, love it.. I also dry out the used grinds and put them in a jar next to my kitchen sink. so when I'm cutting onions or garlic and dont want my hands smelling like them, I scoop a tsp/tbsp of grinds and add a bit of soap and scrub my hands, instantly the smell is gone
EMIMalvern·awesome. recycle and upcycle what you can
TheaMalvern·Whenever there's left over water from someone's cup in the house, we pour it out onto our plants instead of down the drain!
      CharlesAlderwood·Let's get those trees planted!
Niki08059Fletcher's Meadow·Share plants!! There must be some overgrown hostas, left over seeds from last season, post them here so that people can re-plant and multiple the joy of gardening. I have a new backyard and want to add plants to helps bees and birds.
      earnitjrOakridge·keep planting
AlexRouge·it would be really nice if people don't litter the parks and clean up after words
HollywoodLiberty Village·I use the Flash food app to reduce food waste.
AllisonSt.Andrew·put a bee box and bee water fountain on your garden. may need are solitary and don't have homes. if you want them to pollinate your garden give them a comfy home (look up bee box I'd you don't know what it is) and a place to get water (look up bee bath) and then you will have an aging home for your bees. also plant all native plants!
mnmercerCentral London·🌍🌎🌏 I love our planet, I've made many switches and found new ways to recycle products. Paperless bill is an amazing start for anyone, *hint hint* many billing companies will actually knock off money by saving on the postage ($13/month for my hydro to help save the planet and my pocket oh yeah!!). I also love reusing my empty bags of fish food (aquarium) for plant starters pots, amongst other great recycling. Love seeing other people's tips, great incentive to try new things...
ChiquitaRockcliffe·This is really nice...thank you for caring for the earth...the earth needs more campaigns like this. I will try to be more earth friendly for our future generations 🌎🌏🌱🌳💚

ItGuyWillowdale·I believe we as individuals have a great responsibility to protect our forests (environment in general). However, a bigger weight (responsibility) must be put on manufactures shoulder. In turn, they can transfer the expenses to the consumer by increasing their products price.

JojoJane Heights·I love the idea. I hope it grows big!
ElaMilliken·- I use black plastic food containers, which usually go to garbage, to start my seedlings to grow. - I plant flowers that are pollinators friendly (bees🐝, butterflies🦋). -I use rain water barrel for plants. - I keep a bottle to refill my water instead of buying bottled water. - I plant herbs to deter plant pests and to be used as condiments as well. - I keep my front lawn and backyard healthy. - I segregate (religiously) and clean recyclables before placing in the bin. - I bring my own grocery bags instead of using plastic bags. - I use e-bills. - I reinforce the habit of recycling, reusing, repurposing, to my kids (discipline). - We conserve energy at home like turning lights off when not in use.

TinaApplewood·Love this campaign. We say no with plastic shopping bags, save water.
FionaJunction Area·When decluttering our home, I always sell the items online/donate them/put things for free by the curb to extend their life! 🌱
JaeW Humber·Amazing!! Using less paper and more whiteboards for the kids during school, turning off the lights/water where they aren’t in use, and recycling!! learning more about recycling as much as possible! I would love to volunteer to be apart of this tree planting process if needed! Thank you for this, Karrot! Will definitely share!🌍🌳❤️
