    Japanese Ekiben Bento Box Container/Bowl

    Home & Garden ·

    $10

Ekiben container. Ekiben is a type of bento box meal that is sold at train stations and on trains in Japan. The text on one side of the bowl says "おぎのや" (Oginoya) which is the name of a restaurant/shop whose origins began at Yokokawa Station. The characters "横川駅" represent Yokokawa Station. This type of bowl seems to have been traditionally used to serve Touge-no-Kamameshi (first sold at Yokokawa Station), a rice, meat, and vegetable dish! The number on the bottom looks to be a registration number and the last three characters on the bottom represent where the bowl was manufactured. The outside is in excellent condition. The inside has some staining that may be able to be cleaned off but I haven't tried. Please judge condition from photos. Pick up is at the parking lot of Mitchell field community centre (89 church avenue), north york, major intersection is yonge and finch
