The Myth of Sisyphus · ALBERT CAMUS Framed and Numbered description Professionally framed 65cm x 40cm this surrealist portrait of Albert Camus is by the artist Vedran Stimac https://www.collater.al/artists/vedran-stimac/ "I make original portraits of famous writers and persons. I try to show their works (novels, poems, historical events) on their face. For every piece of my work, I need approximately 30-40 hours because I draw with rapidographs, and I love doing things in a more complicated way, so my drawing technique is dotting. Portrait of Albert Camus. He was a French philosopher, author, and journalist. His views contributed to the rise of the philosophy known as absurdism. In the essay "The Myth of Sisyphus", Camus introduces his philosophy of the absurd: man's futile search for meaning, unity, and clarity in the face of an unintelligible world devoid of God and eternal truths or values. The illustration inside Camus head shows Sisyphus pushing the stone. A detail that is highlighted is a chain holding a rock. When Sysiphus accepted the absurd, his life has become easier (chain is helping him metaphorically) , and therefore his infinite job of pushing the stone. I use a Fabriano Carta Crea 160g paper."
