Vintage 1980’s Sanford Hutton Colors in Optics Black Oversized Cat-Eye sunglasses with original black case. Labeled Sanford Hutton Color in Optics Ltd Style 35 Great vintage condition. No visible scratches. Barely worn, almost new condition. See pictures. Hinges still tight and still have some stiffness. ( I wear prescription glasses. I hate loose hinges. ) Lenses are original Oversized lense measures almost 2.5 inches high. Smoke free and pet free household I remember purchasing after watching Madonna in Desperately Seeking Susan. These are a huge size similar to the size of sunglasses she wears in the movie. So probably mid 80’s origin. And at that time Color in Optics was still manufacturing in the States. I’d keep them but I wear prescription glasses. They’ve been in storage all these years. A pioneering force in the eyewear industry, Sanford Hutton, founder of Colors in Optics, noticing that there were limited amount of colors used in frames manufactured and started selling colored eyeglass frames in 1978. At that time one of only a very few American based manufactures of eyeglass frames. The company is NewYork City based and is still privately owned.
