Vintage Artisan Hand Carved Sea Turtle

Sea turtles symbolize longevity, patience, wisdom, and endurance. This beautiful sea turtle is carved out from a very dense and heavy wood (not sure what kind it is and I am just making an assumption when I say based on my research that it may be ironwood) Large and very heavy piece Measures just over 16” long and over 9” wide Eye catching wood grain and detailed carving on the shell, head and its flippers. The turtle is finished in a rich brown wood stain and has a polished smooth appearance. The natural wood grain pops throughout beautifully. The craftmanship is incredible! I couldn’t find any markings or artist name with the exception of numbering at the bottom (see my picture) Stunning piece of woodwork, perfect piece of art for any turtle collector!
