A vintage creamy white porcelain mug commemorating the 1953 Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II on 2nd June. The royal souvenir mug features a sepia portrait of the Queen in a yellow roundel with her Royal crown above. Image is surrounded by green oak leaves and acorns together with colourful Royal Heraldic United Kingdom images - Tudor Rose, Scottish Thistle, Irish Shamrock and Welsh Daffodil. Around the image it says in a blue banner “Honi soit qui mal y pense ” and below the image the banner says “Dieu et Mon Droit”, the monarch’s motto. On the reverse, a small colourful crown image is accompanied by “Coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II June 2nd 1953” within a oak leaf and acorn wreath. Metallic Gold decorates the rim and handle. Mug is approx. 7 cm (2 3/4 in) high, with a rim diameter of 7 cm (2 7/8 in). The mug holds 180 ml (6 fl oz ). Weighs 155 g (5.4 oz).
