Vintage Strap On Roller Skates

Great looking pair of vintage child’s strap on roller skates. Before you had the full boot attached these were the best option to allow you to glide down the street and impress your friends with your fancy moves. Metal wheels made sure you felt every little bump in the road to keep you on your toes… literally! The second pair with the red wheels I’m including as a freebie since they are missing the toe piece on one side, yet would make a great display piece. Heck if you are handy maybe you could make a replacement piece! Both are adjustable, but meant for small feet with the metal wheeled pair being the smaller of the two. I would guess they would fit children under 12, but that’s just an estimate. Overall good cosmetic shape on both though the metals wheels have some rust and the bearings turn, but would definitely benefit from some love and grease. The leather is intact and pliable, but shows signs of wear and there are small tears as pictured. I hope it goes without saying that these assuredly do not conform to any type of safety standards and are really for display or collection purposes unless you consider yourself a daredevil and in that case I wish you the best, but accept no liability. Smaller ones are approximately 8” long and 3.5” wide. Larger ones are 9.25” long in current configuration, but can be lengthened by about another inch. 4” wide at toe.
