Vintage, Wall Frame from the Original Chokin Art Collection, a traditional Japanese craft o. It features a scene of a bird perched on bamboo, intricately created through a technique called Chokin. Chokin is the ancient Japanese art of engraving copper and gilding it with precious metals like 24K gold and silver. Size : Approx. 10 * 12 inches Origins: The technique dates back to the 12th century, where it was originally used to decorate the armor and weaponry of Samurai warriors. Technique: The 3D designs are etched into the metal base, with different depths of carving used to create shading similar to traditional Japanese brush paintings.
