The front pickup (neck position) is a P-type split single-coil. This produces a warm, punchy tone that's great for diverse playing and music styles. The pickup by the bridge is a J-type single-coil and has an incredibly bright, clear sound. With the balance knob (middle potentiometer) you can choose the sound from the neck or bridge pickup and every combination in between.
