Vintage 1970s Chinese, Intricate Hand Painted Cobalt Blue and White Porcelain Vase over a white porcelain body. Lotus & Floral Vine
Style: Qianlong style or a reproduction of Ming Dynasty porcelain, characterized by intricate scrollwork and floral motifs.
Height: approx. 6"
Imperial-style Chinese porcelain seal mark, specifically for the Qianlong period (1736–1795).
Seal Identification
The mark is a six-character seal mark written in archaic Zhuanshu (seal script) using underglaze blue. It reads:
Top right to bottom right: Da Qing (Great Qing)
Top center to bottom center: Qian Long (Qianlong)
Top left to bottom left: Nian Zhi (Made in the period of)
Altogether, it translates to "Great Qing Qianlong Period Made".
Authentication and Context
Period: While the mark identifies the Qianlong reign, such marks were frequently used on high-quality ceramics during that time and later "apocryphal" versions were made in the 19th and 20th centuries.
