Zojirushi Micom Rice Cooker & Warmer (Original $169)

This Micom Rice Cooker and Warmer from Zojirushi comes with an array of menu functions including steel cut oatmeal GABA brown rice settings for healthier options. Available only in select Zojirushi rice cookers, the steel cut oatmeal setting differentiates itself as a separate menu function as it requires a shorter completion time than regular porridge meanwhile the GABA brown rice settings help activate the gamma-aminobutyric acid naturally found in brown rice by keeping the rice in a steady, 2 hour-long state in 104°F prior to cooking. By doing this, it is believed that the activated amino acid aids in alleviating stress, improve kidney function and lower blood pressure. The NS-LGC05 comes with a Rinse OK nonstick interior cooking pan which enables the user to rinse the rice within the actual cooking pan rather than using a separate bowl and colander. One should not be fooled by this model’s compact size and ability to cook as little as 1/2 a cup of rice or oats (making the cooker a must-have for small families or couples); going hand in hand with all advanced rice cookers of the brand, Zojirushi’s 3-cup rice cooker does not falter in delivering perfectly cooked rice, every single time.
