Vintage Brown Glazed Pottery Hen on Nest Covered Dish

Beautiful vintage brown glazed pottery hen on nest covered dish, featuring a detailed mother hen resting on her oval basket-style nest with two baby chicks peeking out from each side beneath her wings. The rich warm brown glaze and intricate feather detailing give it a lovely rustic farmhouse look, and the piece has a nice solid weight that suggests quality craftsmanship. Unmarked underneath, but closely resembles vintage Portmeirion hen-on-nest designs, suggesting a quality older pottery piece from the 1960s–70s era. Originally used as a multipurpose kitchen and dining piece—commonly for serving butter, eggs, pâté, candies, small baked goods, or simply as a decorative farmhouse centerpiece. Measures approximately 8 inches long and 6 inches tall. In great vintage condition with two very tiny flea bites/nibbles to the glaze (hardly noticeable and not true chips), consistent with age and normal vintage wear.
