Timothy Cole Signed Wood Engraving – Marriage A-la-Mode

Antique wood engraving by noted American engraver Timothy Cole (1852–1931), after William Hogarth’s celebrated painting series “Marriage A-la-Mode.” Titled “Marriage A-la-Mode (Detail),” this finely detailed engraving was created after Hogarth’s original painting and is signed by Timothy Cole in pencil. The work appears to be from Cole’s 1902 hand-printed edition of 150 impressions. It is presented under glass with elegant silk or moiré-textured matting and an ornate gold-toned frame. A handsome collectible piece for a traditional interior, library, office or gallery wall. Good antique condition. The frame has some age-related wear, and the paper backing has small tears, as shown.
