Sony WF-1000XM5 Noise Canceling Earbuds + Extras
$225
Excellent condition, well maintained, used on weekends seldomly for about a year. These have some of the best noise cancelling earbud technology, when you turn on ANC (active noise cancelling) it can be quite surreal if you havent experienced it before, almost like seeing a 3d movie for the first time or VR, and thankfully these have almost zero chance of making you want you to throw up, (depending on what you're listening to ๐๐). With the ANC turned up and if they have a secure fit, you can only hear the music, blocking out about 85-90% of background sounds..and yes they do come with safety features to ensure that you aren't taken out by a 10-ton truck.
The newly released "xm6" are roughly 3% better at noise cancelling and go for well over $400.
Includes a clear protective hard-shell case with a locking hinge (prevents the buds from flying out if dropped).
I am including all of the sets of brand-new, never used memory foam tips. Youโll have a fresh, custom seal right out of the box. (depending on your ear tip size) Also includes the box and documentation if needed. Upgraded to the latest firmware.
They also support multipoint, customizable touch controls and a very good custom equalizer that fits best for your ears. You just play a song that you're familiar with, tap one of the four or 5 buttons that sounds best to you and boom, you have a custom equalizer based on what sounds best to you several times and at the end you have a custom equalizer based entirely on what sounds best for you. There's no need to fiddle with knobs or eq sliders at all, but you can if you're into that kind of thing, no judgement here.
So why else should you buy these earbuds? If you're an android user and bought a phone within the last 5 years there's a good chance it supports LDAC. It's basically a high bit rate Bluetooth codec that's supported on significantly more phones that advertise "hi-res" codecs and claim to be lossless. Getting true lossless audio over Bluetooth is a rabbit hole that's not really appropriate for this listing, but I think LDAC gets closer to the goal than any of the other formats.. Of course, if your phone doesn't support LDAC these will still sound great using whatever your phone supports, likely aac, due to the premium hardware components and industry leading ANC.
LDAC is significant with these buds and all Sony buds in particular because they own and developed LDAC, which means these earbuds will surely sound better than other earbuds using ldac and they know how to use it in a way that's not a battery killer. The battery life on these go for about 8 hours using LDAC and ANC turned on. That's about double the battery life of other other earbuds.
One final note on why you should buy these : DSEE Extreme. It is essentially a feature that upscales lower bitrate files on-the-fly (like the ones used in Spotify, YouTube music, etc) to give them a bump up in quality and it actually works. I have no idea how it works but here's the best definition I could find:
"Frequency Expansion: DSEE predicts and recreates the high-end harmonics (treble) that are typically cut off in MP3s or low-bitrate streams.
Bit-Depth Enhancement: It smooths out the audio signal to mimic the dynamic range of 24-bit high-resolution audio." .
Never had any issues with them. Charges reasonably fast. Case has wireless charging. And strong magnets on the inside so you can be sure both buds are charging.
Also selling a pair of Nothing Ear 3's. They are unique design-wise and great in terms of sound quality and have a similar custom eq test like the sonys. Only difference is they last for about 3.5 hours using LDAC+ ANC. The standout feature is you can use the case as a high-quality portable microphone.
