Butler was the foremost Victorian painter of battle scenes, renowned for her dramatic, human depictions of Waterloo and the Crimean War. Included Works “Scotland for Ever!” – The Charge of the Scots Greys at Waterloo (1815) One of Butler’s most iconic works, showing the thunderous cavalry charge. Inscribed: “After the Original Painting by Lady Butler”. “Balaclava: The Return, 25th October 1854” – The Charge of the Six Hundred Depicts the survivors of the Light Brigade returning after the famous charge.
