Brand new, never been set up or installed. Can be used either as a door handle for an exterior entry door, or for an interior door such as a bedroom, pantry, rec room, or even a garage or shed. The handle can be unlocked by one of three methods: 1) fingerprint reader, 2) numeric passcode, or 3) using one of the included backup keys, which are also important to have in case the battery happens to go empty and you're locked out. The numeric panel lights up when you attempt to unlock the door using the passcode. The white LED ring around the fingerprint reader will also light up green when a scan is accepted, or red when the scan fails. The handles are made extremely well and feel solid, so they should also be very resistant to attempts at brute force entry, in case you have any security concerns should you decide to use them for an exterior door.
