200+ year old Trivet

This is a rare & wonderful late George III period fireplace or kitchen range trivet dating to around 1800-1820. It has a Lyre shaped pierced brass top plate with a steel frame designed to hook onto the front rail of a fire grate or cooking range. It can also be used free standing & sits on bent spear point tripod legs. The handle is lacquered mahogany with a brass ferule & capstan finial. Approximately 32.5cm x 17cm x 14cm maximum dimensions. Weight 845g.
