1941 Canadian Five Cents

Selling a rare collectible 1941 Canadian Five Cents with Black Patina. A unique piece of Canadian history! The coin in the image is a 1941 Canadian 5-cent nickel, featuring the iconic beaver design on the reverse and King George VI on the obverse. Coin Specifications This was the final year Canadian nickels were made primarily of nickel before wartime shortages forced a change to "tombac" (a brass alloy) and steel in 1942. Composition: 99% to 100% Nickel. Mintage: 8,681,785 pieces were produced for circulation. Weight: 4.54 grams. Diameter: 21.21 mm. Designers: T.H. Paget (Obverse) and G.E. Kruger-Gray (Reverse). Grading Observations The coin in your photo shows signs of circulation: Visible wear on the high points of the beaver's fur and the rock. The fields (flat areas) appear darkened or "toned" from age and handling. Based on standard Canadian grading scales, a coin with this level of detail often falls into the Very Fine (VF) categories.
