Vintage brass school bell with wooden handle, presented in 1974 as a retirement gift to Paul Steer, teacher and principal with the Regina Board of Education from 1939–1974. The bell is engraved with:
“Paul Steer – Teacher and Principal – 1939–1974 – Regina Board of Education – ‘And gladly wolde he lerne, and gladly teche’ – Best Wishes, The Administrative Council, November 1974.”
This Middle English quote is from Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, making the inscription especially unique and meaningful.
