


91This medal is from 1960's or earlier. The Miraculous Medal, also known as the Medal of Our Lady of Graces or the Medal of the Immaculate Conception. It is a devotional medal associated with the Virgin Mary. The design originated from apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Saint Catherine Labouré in Paris, France, in 1830. The front of the medal depicts the Virgin Mary, standing on a globe with her arms outstretched, with the words "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee" surrounding her. The reverse side of the medal typically features the letter "M" with a cross above it, surrounded by 12 stars, and two hearts below. The medal is worn by Catholics to receive special graces and as a sign of devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
