All components are precisely milled for a close fit -there are no cheap die-cut or stamped parts here. Large pieces such as walls and floors are made from 3/8" thick high-density fiberboard, while trim, railings, shingles and other small components are clear grained, splinter free pine that requires no sanding. Everything except trim work is supplied pre-cut, with grooved joints for strength and ease of assembly. Siding profiles are molded into the outer walls, creating an authentic look without the time-consuming task of applying siding piece by piece. Clear step-by-step instructions are supplemented by diagrams and tips to help ensure best results and avoid pitfalls along the way. Other than glue, paint and a few basic tools, the kits provide all the parts needed, as well as reddish-brown shingle dye.
