76Selling a rare one cent token issued in Prince Edward Island in 1855. James Duncan, a hardware merchant in Charlottetown issued the first Canadian decimal piece, the "cent" (100 to the Spanish dollar) of 1855. Competing with other halfpenny tokens (150 to the Spanish dollar), it is doubtful whether they were readily accepted. A tiny bend in the coin, otherwise in pretty good condition for being over 170 years old.
