Willow Pattern Stoneware Platter C.W. & C. c.1840–1860
$120
Antique English blue and white Willow Pattern stoneware platter, dating to the mid-19th century (circa 1840–1860).
This is a large oval platter, measuring approximately 45 cm × 35 cm (17.7” × 13.8”), making it a substantial and highly decorative piece rather than a standard table plate.
The classic Willow Pattern scene features the bridge with figures, flying birds, pagoda-style buildings, willow trees, and garden elements—one of the most iconic designs in English transferware.
The reverse bears a printed lion mark standing on a stone tablet reading “STONE WARE,” with initials “C.W. & C.”, indicating production by a Staffordshire pottery during the Victorian period.
