Vintage Turkish Silver Wedding Mirror
$100
Vintage Turkish ceremonial wall mirror traditionally known as a “Gelin Aynası” (wedding mirror). Such mirrors were historically gifted during weddings as symbols of prosperity, protection, and a new beginning, and were often displayed in the family home.
This example is attributed to the Orhan Kenan workshop, a known Turkish silversmith active in the 20th century. The maker’s surname KENAN is visible on the stamp, as shown in the close-up photos.
Crafted with a 900 silver base and finished with gilded decorative elements, the mirror features a classical Greek key (meander) border and a central sunburst motif, surrounded by a scalloped and richly embossed outer edge. The piece hangs from its original metal chain.
The mirror shows natural age-related wear and patina consistent with vintage silver, clearly visible in the photos and appropriate for its age.
A strong decorative and cultural piece, suitable for collectors of Turkish silver, wedding traditions, or statement wall décor.
