Vintage limited edition print titled “Kayak Man” by the renowned Inuk artist Pauta Saila RCA.
Signed and dated in pencil by the artist to the bottom right.

Pauta Saila RCA (1916-2009) was an Inuk artist from Kilaparutua, Baffin Island, Canada and resided in Cape Dorset, Nunavut. Saila began carving as a teenager making implements and tools from ivory. Saila’s work has been exhibited across Canada and internationally including the United States, France, Sweden, Belgium and Germany. In 1999 Saila created a bronze Dancing Bear sculpture for the Byward Market in Ottawa, Ontario. His works are held in numerous public collections such as the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, the Museum of Modern Art, New York and the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Saila was also elected into the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 2003. Saila is well known for his soapstone sculptures of Dancing Bears. Saila’s works continue to be sought after and are offered in many galleries commanding high price.
Good condition. Framed and matted. No issues. Any wear commensurates with the age.
