This listing is for a pair of vintage ceramic fruit plates made by Wood & Sons in England, dating to the mid-1950s. Each plate measures approximately 8.5 inches in diameter.
The plates feature vibrant, hand-painted still-life fruit motifs in the center. One plate showcases purple grapes and a yellow pear, while the second plate features red cherries and purple grapes.
They are designed with the Alpine style border, which includes a deep embossed floral and leaf pattern trailing into a classic scalloped rim. Both plates bear the authentic circular Made in England backstamp used by the Wood & Sons pottery in Burslem during the 1950s.

Condition: Please note that these plates are being sold as-found with wear consistent with age. One plate is in good vintage condition with light crazing. The second plate (cherry motif) has a visible crack running from the rim toward the center, as shown in the photos. There are no large chips, but both plates show fine age-related crazing in the glaze. They remain excellent pieces for a wall display or hutch where the cosmetic front is the focus.
