Large Hand-Carved Yoruba Gelede Mask

Large hand-carved wooden Gelede-style mask attributed to the Yoruba peoples of Nigeria, West Africa. Carved from a single solid piece of wood and finished with traditional red and dark pigment accents. Strong facial features, stylized coiffure, and geometric detailing are consistent with classic Yoruba carving traditions. The mask is fully hollowed on the reverse and fitted with a wire for wall display. Shows age, surface wear, and natural cracking consistent with hand-carved African wood objects.
