J&G Meakin Tulip Time Ironstone Oval Serving Platter

This vintage J & G Meakin "Tulip Time" platter was produced in England during the 1960s & 1970s. Designed by Tom Arnold, this mid century modern tableware features a stylized tulip motif in an earthy, warm gold colour. The "Tulip Time" pattern is one of their more recognizable designs, featuring a bold, graphic floral motif, often in yellow or gold. The platter is made of ironstone, a type of durable pottery. It is oval-shaped with handles and marked "J&G Meakin, Hanley, England" on the back. In very good vintage condition with age appropriate crazing but no chips or cracks (see pictures).
