For auction is a beautiful vintage mid-century hand-painted oil on board reproduction of William-Adolphe Bouguereau’s famous 1891 masterpiece, La Cruche Cassée ("The Broken Pitcher").
This charming decorative piece features a pensive peasant girl sitting by a water well with a cracked green pitcher at her feet, rendered with soft brushwork and rich tones. It comes beautifully housed in its original, highly ornate vintage gilt gesso-style wooden frame with a classic fabric/linen inner liner border.
