Antique Religious Madonna Painting in Gilded Frame

This was a piece from my grandmother’s art collection, purchased from Portugal in the 60s-70s. Thick and embellished gold wooden frame showcases this beautiful and simple hand-painted side profile of the Virgin Mary in gold, phthalo blue, and ivory. The entire piece measures 9.25in x 10.5in x 1.5in, while the art itself is a 3.5 x 4.5in oval. One noticeable chip in the frame and a couple of scratches in Mary’s blue head covering. Some significant front-facing cracks in the frame 🖼️ Markings on the back show a signature covered by framing tape, along with a small round sticker with “131 $125.00” handwritten on it. Wire strung along the back for hanging.
