Pauline Pelletier Ceramic Hen Sculpture with Gold Accents

Beautiful and highly unusual vintage ceramic hen sculpture by Canadian artist Pauline Pelletier, measuring approximately 12 inches long and 8½ inches high. The sculpture features a beautifully sculpted cream/ivory ceramic body with dimensional feather detailing and striking gold-finished accents on the comb, beak, wattles, feet and tail. The piece is signed “Pauline” on the underside and retains its original gallery identification tag from GRIMM & CO. Canadian Gallery, Port Carling, Ontario. The handwritten tag identifies the artist as Pauline Pelletier and describes the piece as: “CERAMIC HEN WITH 14K GOLD” The underside also retains an “Atelier du Vieux Cap-Rouge” label. Condition Please note: this piece could use a slight restoration. There is a chip/loss to the gold-finished area around the face/beak, visible in the close-up photographs. This appears to be the most significant condition issue and could benefit from a cosmetic restoration. There is also considerable age-related wear to the finish, including areas of flaking/loss to the decorative feather surface, discoloration, scuffing and wear to the ceramic and gold-colored finishes.
