Vintage Brass Ship Engine Order Telegraph – Amesbury, Mass

Heavy, authentic vintage Ship's Engine Order Telegraph (EOT). This is a substantial floor-standing pedestal model made of solid brass/bronze. It features a classic double-faced design with commands including "Full, Half, Slow, Dead Slow, Stop, Stand By" for both Ahead and Astern. According to the brass ID plate, this unit is an "ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH" manufactured in Amesbury, Mass (likely by the historic Henschel Corporation). This piece would make a fantastic restoration project, a bold statement piece for a nautical-themed restaurant or bar, or a valuable addition to a maritime collection. SOLD AS IS / FOR RESTORATION. The glass on the face is shattered (see photos). The brass has a heavy, aged patina, oxidation, scratches, and wear consistent with age and maritime use.
