Other Notes:
1. The NVRAM disk on this system needs to be replaced. What this means: the system is bootable and runs Solaris 2.6. However, it will not retain its boot parameters. Each time it is powered on you need to either reprogram the NVRAM (simple with many tutorials online) or replace the chip (sellers and tutorials online). This is not a problem of the machine but the way Sun manufactured the NVRAM by wiring the battery directly into the NVRAM’s IC package. All Suns of this vintage have the same issue.
2. The External tape drive has been tested with the supplied tapes and it works
3. The External hard drive powers up and is seen by the operating system BUT the drive itself is dead or needs some tender loving care to work. My preference would be to pull the drive as part of the sale, but this can be negotiated.
4. Two images have been included to show that the system runs, and has the NVRAM issue (i.e. IDPROM contents are invalid), the disks and tape drive are seen, and the tape drive works.
