MelLansing·I already paid my fee to be a part of the yard sale. Hope to meet some of you. Most of my items from this site and Bunz will be available
YeshaWillowdale E·Excited! Got my ticket 🎟! Hahaha better luck to me than last time
YuliaBayview Village·Hi Yesha, I take it that you’ve participated before and do you mind if I ask you some questions about the yard sale?
MelLansing·what happened last time? Was it worth it?
YeshaWillowdale E·Hi Mel/ Yulia - The last time I saw some people do good sales around me - vintage stuff to furniture to baseball cards (+most random stuff!) haha but my first time was a bit of a failure because I took my best / new/ expensive items and not willing to let go for less 😅😅 my husband was willing to let his stuff go for any amt so he actually did sell over $200. The other disadvantage was the location was pretty secluded and didn’t get extra traffic other than the ppl who drove there. I think this time the location seems much better and in collab with Karrot 🤞 hahaha 🤣 last time we had just gotten out of the lockdown I think and I found out from flyers I saw stuck to a pole on yonge street. 😅 just bring all the stuff you are ready to let go ~ might be someone else’s treasure !
YuliaBayview Village·Thanks for the info Yesha 👍🏻. Did you host your own or at the community market last time? What about this time around? I take it the church is a new location for this year?
YeshaWillowdale E·I believe the hosts from the last time are the same as this time. They are pretty well organized and are well known in the North York Community. The event was very well put together — great atmosphere. My reminder is ~ pls bring change $2 / $5 and bags to both buyers and sellers
YeshaWillowdale E·Oh at the church ⛪️ north of finch/ yonge .. that time too got a good turn out of people driving in and the sellers were themselves buying so it was busy
YuliaBayview Village·Thanks Yesha. Good to know and thanks for the tips 👍🏻. This time though it will be at different church . It’s closer to Sheppard and Yonge area.
MelLansing·What happened last time?
GayleBranson·I can’t bring my item as they are mostly furniture. I also live in an apartment. Any suggestions
YuliaBayview Village·Same boat here 🙂. For me, no other option than just listing it here. Either that or see if you can find a friend/buddy and coax them into helping you to the yard sale 😁
RosaFinch·Hi Gayle, what type of furniture do you have for sale?
AFEnglemount·Take pictures. Post sale ad on Karrot; Facebook Marketplace, and mention buyer has to come pick up furniture. Also, if you know someone or you yourself, can rent a van and deliver for a fee. I've done all of what I mentioned
GayleBranson·I have an armoire, headboard queen size and frame for box spring, wall unit that is 6 sections ( one corner unit and one curio cabinet.
The armoire and headboard are Pecan wood and the wall unit is I think oak. I refinished the wall unit years ago. A maple rocking chair and a server on wheels as well as the dining table that matches the server.
YuliaBayview Village·For those new to the event, here’s some info I got from the site contact person:
1. The market will occur in the Spring Garden Parking lot. Everyone will be grouped together by category: Yard sales, mom2mom sellers and artisans.
2. Everyone will get one parking space or the equivalent of one in the parking lot. So load in will mean unloading stuff at the lot, then parking on a nearby street and coming back.
3. We will not have tents unfortunately. Depending on weather there will be direct sunlight so if you would like to bring a patio umbrella you are more than welcome to. You can rent a table from us or bring your own.
4. Help spread the word so we can generate as much traffic as possible! And If you’ve got particularly desirable items you can send them the images!
Hope this helps! 😊
OaluFinch·I love this event
Vending Machine LadyNewtonbrook W·Can hardly wait!
SadieWillowdale E·My daughter and I will be a part of the yard sale💚
