Tim Paul Signed Serigraph "Earthquake" 54/100 1983 12x9.5"
$225
An exceptional, highly collectible piece of Pacific Northwest Coast
Indigenous fine art: an authentic, original 1983 limited-edition colour
serigraph (silkscreen) titled "EARTH QUAKE" by renowned Nuu-chah-nulth
(Hesquiaht) master carver and painter Tim Paul (A-nii-sa-put).
This striking, rare work features all the hallmarks of classic Northwest
Coast formline geometry, beautifully hand-pulled in deep black and
vibrant red pigments. The composition brilliantly illustrates a profound
cultural oral history from Yuquot (Friendly Cove) regarding a traveler
who encounters mountain dwarves inside a cave and becomes afflicted with
"earthquake foot," causing the ground to shake violently beneath him
with every step.
